The film’s content as well as the music are appealing to a mass audience, so it spells good news for the Hindi film industry this week. ‘Ek Villain Returns’ performed best in circuits like UP, Gujarat, Bihar and Nizam/Andhra. Other mass circuits like Rajasthan and CI witnessed lesser collections. The footfalls were pretty much in the range of ‘Jugjugg Jeeyo’ owing to the lesser ticket pricing. Now it remains to be seen how the film performs over the weekend.
Dedicating a post to his character Gautam in the film on the day of release, Arjun Kapoor wrote on Instagram, “Some characters are etched into an actors’ trajectory. Gautam is one such character and will always be. He helped me bring out aspects of my personality that were undiscovered by me. Plotted within a script such as Ek Villain Returns, the character radiates the right and relevant emotions, madness and energy. So grateful to have had this chance to embody this role. #EkVillainReturns releases today – Gautam is now all yours.”
