Govt warns of flaws in Apple Watch, hacking risk

NEW DELHI: India’s cyber-security agency CERT-In has warned of “high” vulnerabilities in the operating system of Apple Watch, which could allow hackers to bypass the company’s security restrictions on the smart device.
In an advisory, CERT-In has said that users should update their Watch OS to the latest security versions rolled out by the company. The vulnerabilities have been reported in Apple Watch with OS prior to the 8. 7 version.
“Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code and bypass security restrictions on the targeted system,” it said, asking users to apply “appropriate patches” mentioned in Apple’s security updates.
