Google has updated its Android prevalence information, reports Gizchina. According to statistics, earlier versions of the operating system are much more popular than the current Android 12.
Thus, the Android 12 operating system is installed on 13.3% of compatible devices, while Android 11 — by 27% and Android 10 by 22.3%. Even the version of Android 9, which was released in August 2018 , is installed on 14.5% of gadgets.
It is noted that the weak increase in the popularity of the current version of Android is due to the fact that many users use smartphones for several years and, fearing that errors or slowdowns in their device when installing the latest version, they bypass the update.
Android 12 s low prevalence is also associated with the fact that timely updates on Google Pixel smartphones, while users of gadgets from other brands have to wait much longer for a new version of the OS.
