Rugby League World Cup 2021 reveals Stats Perform partnership

Rugby League World Cup 2021 has revealed a new partnership with  Stats Perform that designates the sports data technology firm as the exclusive data partner across all three tournaments in England this year.

Through the agreement, Stats Perform will deliver its artificial intelligence (AI) powered metrics, aiming to enhance the media analysis, as well as fan engagement, during the men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions when they get underway on 15th October.

Stats Perform will offer data insights to enhance storytelling for media partners throughout the Rugby League World Cup. The company’s Opta data division will also be deployed to create unique media, brand and sponsorship activations, which will be revealed before the event.

Opta will also provide detailed data feeds throughout each of the Rugby League World Cup tournaments, with visibility offered via official social media channels.

In addition, for all matches, Stats Perform will provide teams and media with bespoke data packs.

For the teams involved, backroom staff will have access to Stats Perform’s RugbyHub platform, which houses data, as well as video content, designed to provide performance insights.

“We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Rugby League World Cup 2021 and be a part of powering the first Rugby League World Cup that encompasses the men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions within one tournament,” said Steve Xeller, chief revenue officer at Stats Perform.

“Stats Perform has a long history of growing rugby league globally through our market leading data, content, and distribution, and this deal is yet another milestone in Stats Perform’s commitment to supporting the expansion of the sport across the globe.”

Jon Dutton, chief executive of Rugby League World Cup 2021, added: “The RLWC2021 is committed to making a real impact in communities, and one of the ways we can support this is by delivering the best possible experiences for our passionate fans, along with supplying our partners and teams with the highest quality match data.
