WhatsApp is releasing a new header within the list of your archived chats to some beta users, reported WABetaInfo. The feature s released for iOS and android beta users. The Meta-owned app is introducing a shortcut to archive settings by adding a new header in your archive.
Notably, last year, the instant messaging app released an upgraded version of a feature that allows people to keep their archived chats in the archive even when new messages arrive. This feature can be disabled within WhatsApp Settings > Chats. However, some users are not aware of this. Due to this reason, WhatsApp added a header for archived chats.
The website also shared a screenshot of the feature. “A new header within your archived chats shows up and it gives information about the current configuration of your archive: the header can be useful because you can immediately understand how your archive works by reading the text within the header,” WABetaInfo wrote.

“If you tap the archive header, WhatsApp will redirect you to your archive settings (that’s already available since last year) so you can decide if you want to edit how your archived chats are managed from the app,” the website further added. The feature will be released to more beta users over the coming few weeks.

WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will bring profile photos of group participants within group chats. This update will be available in a future update of the app. This feature will be enabled by default for all group participants and there will be no option to disable it. The update is still in the under-development stage and its release date is not known yet.
