Will Dakota Johnson play Spider-Woman in ‘Madame Web’? | English Movie News

New photos from the sets of Dakota Johnson‘s Marvel movie ‘Madame Web’ may have just revealed major details about the character she will be playing in the upcoming film.

The actress, who kicked off work on the superhero film, was photographed on the Boston, Massachusetts sets, where she was seen rocking a red coat. Fans of the character noticed that the red coat is synonymous with the Julia Carpenter version of Madame Web.

Comic book fans will know that there are a couple of different iterations of Madame Web, one of which sees her as Julia, former Spider-Woman who gained powers after the original Madame Web, Cassandra Webb, dies.

Julia is known for wearing a red leather coat in the comic books, much like what Dakota was seen wearing on the sets.

In the comics, ‘Madame Web’ is depicted as an elderly woman with myasthenia gravis and thus was connected to a life-support system that looked like a spider web. Due to her age and medical condition, Web never actively fought any villains. For that reason, reports on international portals state that the film may just go off the books and turn into something else. Due to her psychic sensory powers, she is also touted to be Sony’s version of Doctor Strange.

The project that is slated to hit the big screen in October 2023, stars Sydney Sweeney, Adam Scott, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, and Mike Epps in lead roles.
